It's my first day back at the day job for the year and I'm a wee bit happy about that.
Say what now?
Well firstly, I love my day job. Secondly I've put myself together a plan of all I want to achieve this year and I'm ready to get started. And while having time off and charging at my plans like a bull out of the chute at a rodeo is nice, it's not reality.
Reality is working full time, training martial arts at night, sleeping somewhere in there, eating, pooping, etc. As well as finding time to research, write, edit, review and hopefully publish.
Over the break I wrote a new novella which was awesome. I had planned to sculpt myself a new story out of my collection of dead souls in January and I can already tick that off. Woo Hoo! Win for me. Now I've got to continue the momentum.
Last night I attended a seminar at my martial arts club on setting goals, the tools to help achieve them, accountability, as well as looking after your physical and mental well being. We call it being a 'World Champion in Life' Now don't steal that. It's surely trademarked by my Sifu. If you don't know what a Sifu is, it's a Kung Fu master. i.e. He can have you laid out flat before you even blink. So don't even try.
It was cathartic to share one of my big goals with the group and work through my road blocks, i.e. my mental manure. I'm lucky enough to have awesome, and inspiring people around me and I intend to take full advantage of that.
So here's to charging forward with 2015.
