Death

I've been working on a post discussing the death industry in Australia for a couple of months now, struggling to capture the right tone without pushing my own ideologies.

However in a random conversational segway today, a friend pointed me at this website: http://www.orderofthegooddeath.com/

Led by mortician, Caitlin Doughty, the order seeks to promote choice and open discussion about death and the death industry. Something I am personally for and was certainly trying to cover in my own discussion on the topic.

Since the moment I opened the site I have been soaking up all the fantastic content both written and visual contained within. Only breaking to write this and send the link to another friend of mine who is hoping to become a mortician, herself. (I know, I only associate with epic peeps)

So if you're tired of hiding behind a shroud of ignorance on the death industry, I implore you to take a look at Caitlin and The Order's work. Truly inspiring and eye opening.
