Taking 2015 in Quarters

It's March already and hot damn has time flown. While we're only halfway through the month I wanted to check in with you as to what I've been up to since my last post on here.

Study: I've been busy working towards getting my skills officially recognised in the form of a piece of paper I can wave around that indicates that I am 'qualified' for my job. I'm close to achieving this. While I won't make my self induced goal of the end of March, I will hit the end of April and trust me I can't wait to hold that certification.

Martial Arts: I had the honour of grading up to orange belt in Wing Chun Kung Fu, and obtaining my Sei Ping patch for Jow Ga Kung Fu. Martial Arts continues to be the love I never thought I'd have.

Career: Since having a career in information technology, as well as trying to write and get published in the fantasy genre...oh oh and co-writing an outback romance series, I've decided I want more. So I've signed up for the Defence Force Reserves. Now, I haven't been accepted or anything, I'm in the early stages of the process but I'm working on a whole gambit of things to get myself ready for this. I have one month starting Monday to get myself to where I need to be.

Writing: As I've mentioned I wrote a short story over the Christmas/New Year break, The Keeper. I've since edited and had it beta read. Now my issue is how and where to sell it. I never saw myself as a short story writer so I'm completely out of my zone with this one. However I love it just as it as, so a short story it will stay.

I've also started what will be a new novel. A fresh idea that will most likely fall in the urban fantasy genre. I'm still fleshing a lot of the detail for this one out but it's exciting to delve into a new world all the same.

In the background I'm working on finishing book two of the Dead Man's Dance series which is presently titled Resurrected. All the while I'm trying to sell book one which isn't getting any nibbles thus far. Though that's the writer's journey I suppose.
